Course Description
Accounting is an integral part of the management and governance of any enterprise. It acts as a decision-making aid by providing the information necessary for planning, control and performance evaluation. The stakeholders of an entity rely on accounting information to assist in a variety of decisions including the acquisition or sale of shares, lending of funds and the provision of services or goods.
In this course, you will undertake qualitative and quantitative research projects that are team-based, praxis-oriented and closely aligned to industry. Industry partners range from those in the government sector and mining resources industry to accounting firms, IT service firms and real estate companies. You will also have the opportunity to take wider business units in leadership, strategic management and applied business research to further enhance your employability.
You will be taught by experts in the field, benefiting from their real-world industry experience. Our teaching faculty have won teaching excellence awards, secured grant funding from CPA Australia, published journal articles and have active involvement in the industry.
This course is accredited by CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ).
On completion, you’ll satisfy the entry requirements for admission to membership of the professional accounting bodies, including associate membership of CPA Australia, and direct entry into the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia CA Programme.
