This program is designed for those with an approved degree in social work, psychology, human services, nursing or a related field. It’s accredited by the Australian Counselling Association and the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia.Benefit from a program run jointly by the School of Psychology and the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work. Learn the specific knowledge of counselling while gaining in-depth insight from the fields of psychology, social work and nursing. You will learn about research that informs counselling practice, understand key best-practice principles and master how to work with a diverse range of clients. Be confident and job ready with 360 hours of supervised clinical placements. While on placement, you will complete a major project, providing you with the opportunity to apply counselling theory and research skills as you work with clients.
