James Cook University
This course is designed to provide health professionals with an understanding of specific strategies related to teaching in clinical settings. Clinical teachers are being recruited from a wide variety of clinical settings including urban and rural hospitals, general practices, and community clinics. Clinical teachers are also involved in the teaching of post-registration health professionals who are working towards their professional qualifications, such as GP registrars and hospital residents. While these teachers have registered qualifications within their disciplines, the majority do not have formal qualifications in teaching. This course is designed to develop educator skills for busy health professionals.
