  • UQ Library
With 16 branches, 24/7 study spaces and millions of physical and digital resources, UQ students have access to the largest research library in Queensland
  • The School Locker
The School Locker bookshop has outlets on St Lucia, Gatton and Herston campuses, which stock everything from textbooks to UQ merchandise
  • Student Services
Student Services is on every campus and offers support in everything from disability, study and accommodation to social activities and counselling
  • Food and Coffee
Whether you’re chasing a caffeine fix or looking for somewhere to unwind, our campuses are home to many quality cafes, restaurants and eateries
  • Banks and Post Offices
ATMs are on every campus, and St Lucia also has ANZ, Bank Australia and Commonwealth Bank branches on campus, along with a post office
  • Health Services
UQ Health Care is a fully accredited general practice that provides comprehensive and confidential health services for UQ students at St Lucia and Gatton. If you need to see a doctor or nurse while on campus, you can go to UQ Health Care, an accredited general practice providing comprehensive and confidential health services for UQ students.Services include general medicine and specialist referrals, sexual health and contraception advice, pathology collection, counselling, minor surgery, travel advice and vaccinations.UQ Health Care bulk bills eligible patients, meaning that you only pay for immunisation and medications prescribed.
  • Child Care
Independently operated child care, kindergarten and after-school-care services are available on or near all UQ campuses. Off-campus care services are also available. Look no further: both Gatton and St Lucia campuses have on-campus childcare and early learning centres, with more options available in surrounding areas. All centres are operated independently to UQ, so you should contact each centre directly for more information. If you’re arriving in Brisbane from overseas or interstate, we recommend planning ahead: there can be high demand for places in many childcare centres, including on-campus services. It’s common for childcare centres to have waiting lists, so it’s a good idea to organise child care early. If you can’t get a place with an on-campus provider, don’t worry: off-campus facilities are located close to all UQ campuses, so you still have plenty of options.
  • Campus Security
With our 24-hour security patrols and a safety program created specifically for UQ campuses, you can feel safe and secure whenever you’re here. UQ developed the safety program as a way to improve safety for staff, students and visitors on campus. The initiative operates across all campuses and is designed to raise awareness of safety, and maximise your sense of security. This, combined with Brisbane being one of the safest and most family-friendly cities in Australia – with one of the lowest crime rates in the world – means you can focus on your studies and enjoy everything UQ has to offer.
  • Shopping
Specialty stores, hairdressers, travel agents and more – you can find it at our campuses. We even host Market Days showcasing local handicrafts and fashion!
