The Bachelor of Laws prepares you for a career as a legal professional. Aside from the traditional roles as a solicitor, barrister or in-house counsel, a law degree is useful for careers in academia, business, the public service and politics.
The Bachelor of Business is your gateway to a wide variety of positions in both the public and private sectors. On completing the course, depending on your major, you will be qualified to work:
Human resource management
This course is an approved academic qualification for admission to the legal profession and is accredited by the Legal Practitioners Admissions Board of Queensland. Graduates are also required to undertake a further period of practical legal training before being admitted as a legal practitioner. Graduates may then be admitted in any Australian jurisdiction.
Depending on your chosen business major there are a number of professional associations that you may be eligible to apply for.
As a Marketing major graduates may be eligible for membership with the Australian Marketing Institute and the Australian Market and Social Research Society.
Upon completion of the Management major graduates may be eligible for membership with the Institute of Managers and Leaders.
The Property major is accredited by the Australian Property Institute (API). Graduates are eligible for associate membership and the major is endorsed as supplying the education requirements for certification as a Certified Property Practitioner. For more information, please refer to the Australian Property Institute website. Graduates may also seek registration with the Valuers Registration Board.
The Human Resource Management major is accredited by the Australian Human Resource Institute (AHRI). Graduates will be eligible for membership of AHRI upon successful completion of the course.
