University of Sydney
Are you ready for the opportunity of a lifetime? Travel abroad, immerse yourself in the French culture, learn a new language and complete a dual degree, all at the same time. This four-year dual degree program enables you to work towards both a Bachelor of Arts degree at Sciences Po in France and a Bachelor of Economics degree at the University of Sydney.
The first of its kind in Australia, two of the world’s leading institutions for the humanities and social sciences, the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Sciences Po in France, have come together to offer students a new dual degree program.
The four-year dual degree program is available to both international and domestic students and was offered for the first time in 2016. If accepted into the program, you will work towards both a Bachelor of Arts degree at Sciences Po and a Bachelor of Economics degree at the University of Sydney. You will complete the first two years of the program in France, at one of three regional campuses. Each campus focuses on a particular region of the world:
Le Havre located on the Normandy Coast, focuses on the relationship between Europe and Asia.
Menton located on the French Riviera, focuses on the relationships between the northern and southern sides of the Mediterranean, as well as the analysis of the links between Europe and the Middle East.
Reims located in the Champagne region, 45 minutes outside of Paris, focuses on the comparative understanding of Europe and North America.
The Bachelor of Economics at the University of Sydney
Years three and four of the Dual Degree program will commence in semester two of the University of Sydney calendar, typically beginning in August.
The Bachelor of Economics will give you a comprehensive understanding of the overall context of business and government, and the high-level technical skills to analyse economic and social data and events. It will equip you with key capabilities to develop economic and social policy and to work in fields such as business, banking, financial markets, and consulting in both the private and public sectors. You will gain an excellent grounding in economic theory and business statistics, completing a major in economics, agricultural and resource economics, financial economics or the more statistically based econometrics.
