First year covers the core skills you will need to become an IT professional before you specialise in a major that aligns with your preferred career pathway computer science, information systems, software development and computational data science.
Complementing your computing and IT studies, the Bachelor of Science emphasises fundamental principles and discovery research underpinned by critical thinking and analytical capabilities. You can major in one or two areas of science, with elective units allowing you the flexibility to explore different branches and interests. We offer more than 50 study areas, taking you from the microscopic to the cosmic, from biological to physical and chemical processes and preventing diseases in humans, animals and plants.
